Made the page - now I should write something!

Where do I start... I am a single (well, I have a boyfriend but we don't live together or anything like that!) mum with three children, two are teenagers and one primary aged child.

As a teenager myself I was never fat but never skinny - I suspect my BMI has always been over 25 until I my second daughter was 2 years old.

After having two children 18 months apart I ballooned with my weight until I was a size 22 or 16.5 stone. I joined a popular slimming club after a year of trying to diet by myself (and I had lost two stone but I was stuck). I lost another 36.5 lbs in 18 short weeks and bought my first ever pair of size 10 jeans. I also started running up to 12 classes a week!

My weight from thee on has been up and down but I have never gone back into the 14+ stone range.

Three years ago, when on a really low ebb I was talked into joining the gym. I started by joining Aquarobics, then progressed to trying Aerobics, LBT, Pilates, Body Pump, Circuits and Spin. I discovered I hated LBT, Zumba and aerobics - I have no coordination.

However I loved Body Pump, Pilates, Circuits (apart from the running bit), Spin and Pilates. At the time I was self employed working from home and I finally got a full time job that limited my 'me' time. I started going 5-6 times a week but at 7am. I also started dating the boyfriend in this time, gradually by Christmas this year I stopped going, I had given up smoking and I was happy and content. I had gained a stone.

On April 8th this year I determinedly (weighing 12st 2lbs) started back at the gym and in May I started this blog to help me along the way with staying on track. I have a small (but it seems dedicated) readership but I am enjoying sharing and hopefully nudging others to try something new.

Just before being made redundant (boo) in June this year I treated myself to some personal training sessions and I discovered weight lifting... A monster with food knowledge was created!
